SWAMP

Issue:
Nearly half of the rear property was a continual swamp because of adjoining properties draining directly to it. One side was collecting the filter discharge from the neighboring swimming pool, while the other side adjoined a steeply graded vacant lot. The backyard was unsuitable for recreation.

Remedy:
Design and construct significant landscape and drainage improvements.

  1. Construct an extensive drainage system below the proposed deck and brick patio.
  2. Install an open gravel drainage system along the swimming pool discharge area with a series of 45 degree bends. Install a stone border, and cap the drain gravel with river rock to enhance the existing landscape.
